I am reading about how people have successfully made critical illness claims for PV and I'm so pleased for them as it must make the financial side of things so much easier to bear.
Unfortunately we only have terminal illness cover. I just wanted to know if PV would come into that bracket as it is incurable and if we could get a successful claim under this it would mean my husband who has PV wouldn't have to kill himself working 60hrs a week to pay the mortgage.

To be terminal I'm sure is less than 12mths. My Grandmother on and lived 25 years after dx without aspirin just the odd venesection
I'd perhaps consider phoning up and asking what is covered. See if they have a sheet/List of things. Might not mention what you looking at at the moment. Technically it's the treatment that stops it being terminal.
The terms of terminal illness cover tend to be very restrictive and within a very tight time frame. So you would tend to need to have been given a terminal illness diagnosis and predicted death within months. Thankfully an MPN diagnosis does not come into this category. If you have an MPN you are much more likely to die from something else, hopefully old age! Check whether you have critical illness cover, it’s possible your husband may be able to make a claim under that.
I've been advised on more than one occasion by a haemo that one is more likely to die with it, than of it. Critical, yes - terminal, not so..... As always, depends who you talk to
