I am waiting to be seen ay Guys in Sept because my red cell count is too high. This week I have been driven mad by constant pins & needles in my arms and hands and if i raise my arms up at all (like holding the steering wheel!) my hands go numb. I've had it on and off for months but its really bad this week. I've been drinking lots but its not helping. Any ideas?

Hi Vicki, do you know how high it is? Do you have to wait til September for appointment? Your GP might arrange a blood test for you. This is what I do if I have concerns. Then results provide the evidence about what I should do or not do. I have no idea what your symptoms mean so sorry can't comment on them.
Hi Vicky, it may be better to speak to your GP about the pins and needles, just to get it checked out, it is very easy to blame all new symptoms on our MPNs when they may not be connected to it at all and you have something else going on, I don't want to worry you, but don't ignore symptoms. Best wishes, Maz
Got my fbc result, it's pretty much the same as it was in June. Still got the pins and needles though not quite as bad. Can't see GP fir 2 weeks so I Will just have to plod on!
