Update on Blood Book - Patient held records

Hi

The project at GSTT for a booklet that will enable us to have our blood results recorded in one place, so that we can take them with us from hospital to hospital, is now entering its final stages. Its been through a couple of drafts, been looked at by the clinical team at Guys , needs to pass the pharmaceutical governance team and then the very helpful patient information person at Guys will help with the layout and publishing side of things.

So we are within month or so, I hope, of having a version we can start using. I will find it personally most helpful, as files of letters are wretched things to carry around, and often weeks go by before the letters get typed and the data gets back to us, our local hospitals and our GPs.

I'll let you know when I get a copy, hot off the press. Then we can see how to spread it around to other people/hospitals who might want it.

Brilliant!!! - thanks so much for being ‘go between’ for us - was thinking about this just this week at my last ‘stabbing’ session when I got counts filled in my home made one (super cheerful with platelets now down to near normal + all others okaykok)

Hi my team said this would be a good idea. I made my own from a accounts book.

I would be very interested in having a file as I was admitted to hospital for an overnight stay and it would have been useful.

Good luck with this.

What a fantastic idea, I recently had my vampire visit ( that's what my children call it) when I asked for a copy of my results my heamo got quite cross with me and said I didn't need them because he was sending them to my doctor!! After I tried to explain that my doctor and I agreed it would be helpful to both have a copy of any results he grunted and walked off . He was lucky my mum didn't get hold of him she wasn't very impressed.

Anyhow to have our record book would be great surely he can't argue if it's been endorsed by Guys!!

Thank you for your hard work !!!
