Hi

Yes Petsch I take Hydroxy and Aspirin also. You will find many people on this forum who take both or if not Aspirin something like Clopidogrel which performs similar function. Liz

Yes, I take one baby aspirin with my hydroxy. I was just prescribed hydroxy but was already taking baby aspirin for 3 months because I had stents inserted. My haem said he would have put me on baby aspirin anyway after diagnosing me with ET.

This journey does not require you to have a degree in pharmacology that is what your team is all about.technology moves on , aspirin keeps the blood thin and free from clots which block off the fine vessels hydroxide is to blanket the effect of the raised rogue platelets. They work in unison.

They are more effective together.

Hydroxy is a cytotoxic drug and it’s use is to destroy blood cells I.e. a form of chemotherapy.

I do. 300 mg every day now for 12 years and hydroxy for 10 years. I was told I will always have to take both.
