Do you take dissolving or non dissolving..

I currently take non dissolving and swallow, my better half suggests I should take the other Enteric-coated aspirin.

Thoughts..

Thanks for that, just looked online, huge variance in price, where do you get yours from? I'm in the UK..

Hi I used to take dissolvable ones, but caused me to get a stomach ulcer, so for the last twenty odd years I take enteric coated Asprin with no problems, but I also have ommprezole just in case I ever need to take for acid reflux.

I take the enteric coated ones and omeprazole as I also have ibs, though I have the free prescription card that you can get from the hospital or GP.

I’m in the U.K. + buy mine from weldrakes chemist (yellow + white pack of 28 tablets 75mg)- costs 95p a pack (could get them on prescription but these suit me + my chemist is happy to let me stock up 3 months at a time).

Enteric coated every time! I have to buy them as GP will only prescribe the regular ones. Tend to get them from wherever I happen to be when I realise I have run out. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I also use enteric coated tablets. I get mine from Waitrose at about 90p for 28 days supply

Not worth bothering with a prescription at that price

I currently take a daily 75mg Dispersible Aspirin which I get on prescription. I just swallow them whole as my heam said that is OK.

I've looked in Boots for the Enteric-coated ones but can't find them. Never thought of the supermarket. If they are that cheap I will sort out a source and stop using the prescription as, no doubt, the NHS is being charged an inflated amount to supply them.

Definitely take enteric coated aspirin to protect from GI bleeds or ulcer and only after a meal. I buy from boots and stock up.

Started on disolvable but with in a week had stomach issues. My GP put me on enteric coated and never had a problem. Been on them for the last 9 years. Wouldn't use anything else.

I always take enteric coated - less than £1 a month from most supermarkets

I thought that non dissolving and enteric coated were the same? I take the dissolving ones but just swallow whole. I asked the local pharmacist if it mattered he told me that unless I had any stomach issues then the enteric coated ones are not necessary.

Hi shiftzz, Take enteric, you're on aspirin for life probably. The additional protection is important to avoid the damage aspirin does. I also take Lansoprazole as even enteric irritated my stomach. J

Enteric coated. 95p in tesco.

I have enteric coated aspirin on prescription. I am a pharmacist as well as an MPN sufferer. The extra cost to the nhs for supplying coated rather than dispersible aspirin is 16p per pack of 28 so I see no reason why GP's should not give it even in these cost saving times !
