Aspirin question

Hi, I am off 75mg aspirin from 5 days ago as getting a BMB on Thursday but noticed at nighttime a feeling similar to panic attack, had this also 2 days ago & chest felt tight, even up to a few hours ago didn’t feel right, hard to get a deep breath type feeling..

Is this something to bring up with doctor, ANP as was v apprehensive, as unsure if symptoms of a heart attack, I know, don’t Google.

I have MPN ET but AB is only 4% & would really appreciate advise or if this had happened to anyone else.

Thank you reading my postas feel like a right hypochondriac.

Nicky

I would see a doctor as it sounds like you may have a clot

I'm 76 and taking daily aspirin. I strongly suggest you follow up with a doctor asap. I don't want to alarm you, but this is something that a cardiologist should advise you on. Good luck.

Slightly different reference here but I'm due steroid injection on Saturday and advised stop aspirin 5 days prior, the day after and then re start. I was told its to reduce the risk of bleeding when a procedure takes place. That's was Haemo Consultants advice. Maybe the same is advised pre Bmb for same reason.

I get palpitations or fluttering feelings some nights due to aspirin . Been checked all fine. I tried altering to taking aspirin mornings or every other day & it was better but check with your Dr . 👍

Please contact a doctor about this. Be safe. I have a trick when I can’t take aspirin in the time before any procedure. I take 120 mg of ginkgo in the morning and also in the evening. Ginkgo works wonderfully too thin the blood, but it doesn’t stay in the body more than 12 hours. 😁 therefore, it is a wonderful solution to bridge the time before the BMB. Of course, I have discussed all this with my doctor. I would never the less stop the ginkgo, 36 hours before the BMB. All the best for your BMB

I’ve had 3 BMB’s and never stopped aspirin 75mg, I can’t see why stop?

I read on here about people stopping aspirin for various reasons eg tooth implant etc. I find that a bit concerning because if we need it we need it. I’ve not stopped my aspirin in 14 years for any reason, please be careful.

Sorry to hear about the struggles. This could be a number of different things, ranging from a tachycardia event, some other cardio event, a medication side effect, or a stress-induced panic reaction. The only way to know is to be assessed at the time it is happening as was recommended by your care team. This is definitely not something to just ignore.

Hope you get this resolved ASAP.

Thank you so much & the ANP’s who are part of my care team are aware of what’s happened & suggested going onto antacid tablets, as think it could be related to acid reflux due the aspirin which I’ve only on from September & as only happens at night time.

I think you would need further investigation before taking any other drug such as antacids etc.

Thank you for the reply & didn’t get any as the ANP had said tablet form only but I was told that I needed a prescription to get in this form & the pharmacist hadn’t a clue what a MPN was & not that helpful.
