Hi, I had palpitations - feels like very fast heartbeat that shakes your body - when my Hb/HCT was high. Think this is harmless. But if my heart skipped beats I would get to the GP ASAP!

I had this problem when I was on Anagrelide and had to stop the treatment. I went on a period of aspirin and venesection only and now on Hydroxy, so far so good. Hated the palpitations and funny heart rate feeling. Would talk to your consultant.

Hi there, my heart does strange things. I have had a fair few heart tests, but everything comes back normal. Blood pressure is good but pulse is slow.something is amiss but What? My GP ( lovely man) tapped a rhythm on the table and said, if it does this, seek help immediately!!! Needless to say I have forgotten the tune! Oh well every night I wish? Keep smiling and don't worry too much 🤗

I was on hu for over 3 years, I didn't have any heart troubles, but we all react differently. Please mention it to your consultant or GP whoever you see first. I'm now on Anagrelide and I get palpitations a couple of hours after I've taken it, but nothing too scary. While I was on hu my platelets didn't get down to normal figures - not far off though, and they were very slow to reduce as well. On Anagrelide they have dropped to normal levels, hope they're still down there when I go back in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes
