Safely home.

Two flights and I am safely back home. I hydrated constantly on the flights so that surely caused me to get up and walk to the bathroom several times. I thought of you all as I danced down the isles. LOL. Will have HGB checked this week. Just wish I had more time in London instead of just overnight. Thank you all for your great wishes. Sending love and hugs to my "cousins" over the Pond. Hi!

Sounds as though you've been to the states! Something I'd love to do but was told years ago that a 4 hour flight was the limit.....I'm sure I'd be fine, my readings are usually ok. ( haematocrit 41 to 45 so would make sure I had a venesection beforehand, and platelets around 260/300)

Can I be cheeky and ask where you flew and how far?

Hi, we always use British Air so that means two flights to get home. We fly Aer Lingus from Cork to Heathrow only about one hour flight, stay overnight at Terminal 5 Sofitel, then early 7 1/2 hr flight to New York. I make sure I hydrate and walk around. Also, I have a BA credit card. I charge everything I purchase on it. So every year I get a free companion ticket for my husband and I use my Avios and we fly First Class. We just pay the tax. The upside is that our seats become beds so my legs are elevated the whole trip. I cannot fly with my legs hanging down. They become quite painful after about an hour. I was a bit concerned but my Dr. told me not to worry. I worried anyway before we flew. Once up I just enjoyed the flight. Sorry I saw your PS before I read this. XX Harlie

Ps hi Harlie, do you live in Kinsale? GLORIOUS spot.

We were there years ago when a friend of ours ran a hotel in Kinsale. Always meant to go back and never have........

Hi Louise. No we rent a townhouse in Ardbrack Heights or Hill Cottage in Scilly. Awesome views over Kinsale Harbor. We live on New Jersey shore in the summer and Vero Beach, Florida in the winter. That said, after 26 trips over Ireland is like home. Which hotel did your friend run. Be well. Nice hearing from you. XX. Harlie

Hi Harlie,

Thanks for the info. Really fancy Florida in January / February, or California in the spring - my husband used to be European director of finance for Holiday Inn and we had loads of wonderful freeby hols in the US (boy do I miss those! ) but someone told me I might have to have Heparin injections ? Don't really fancy that as feel I have enough chemicals pumped into me.

I drink 2-3 litres water every 24 hours anyway. Business class here we come hopefully if we manage to seek the house. Couldn't stretch to first I don't think, but the warmth beckons in the winter I have to say.

Can't for the life of me remember which hotel in Kinsale, it was 40 years ago!

Happy days......

Pleased to hear that you're home safe and sound. I haven't been to Kinsale, I believe it is beautiful though. I did visit Schull briefly on one of many trips to Ireland (Irish heritage) many years ago and have fond memories.

Take care

Mary

Thanks Mary. Have stayed in Schull also. Just beautiful. Then again I think all Ireland is beautiful. Miss it so much already. Hugs, Harlie
