Had my regular check up yesterday and my platelet count has gone down to 401! Great news after they had been climbing for so long. My haem was pleased with all my counts and put my next appointment back to 8 weeks. If all ok next time it will go back to the 3 monthly I was on before everything went a bit crazy.
Would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful healthy New Year. Thank you all so much for all your support, I don't know what I would do without it. Thank you to Maz and everyone at MPD Voice.
Much love, Karen xxx

Really sorry to hear that but like you say you are in the best place if you are not back to full health yet. I'm sure those wonderful NHS staff will make your Christmas as good as it can possibly be. I will be thinking of you and your family on Christmas day. Keep smiling lovely man xx
Hi Chris, sorry to hear you are not home for Christmas but as you say you are in the best place for you. You can have loads of Christmas days when you get home. Thinking of you and your family, hugs to you all. Aime xx😺
That's great news Karen - fingers crossed your counts remain stable - I'm down into the 400s for the first time in over 12 years and back for my next check-up on 8th Jan - have a great Christmas & New Year..!
Hi Karen.. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year. This is great news. I wonder what dose you are on that brought your count down. I'm recently diagnosed and they are still trying to get to the right dose that works for me. Now I'm on 1gm a day for 5 days, & 500mg for 2 days. I wish you all the best. Molly
Hi Molly, thank you and the same to you. My dose has been changed many times. When I was first diagnosed my count was around 1,100,000 and I started on one 500mg every other day. It was gradually increased to 14 per week before my counts came down, eventually being gradually reduced to 5 x. 500mg per week which kept my count stable at around 350-400 for over two years. Early last year my count started to rise gradually and I had heart problems and had two stents fitted. When my platelets reached around 550 the dose was increased to 7 x 500mg per week but it then jumped to 650. The dose was then increased to 9 per week which held it stable, and then 10 per week (4 days at 500mg and 3 days at 1000mg), which finally brought it down again. I am sure they will get your dose right soon.
