I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy new year.
My Christmas was a strange one. My sister in law (80) always stays with us at this time of year and she was poorly with a high temperature, I thought it might mean an A&E trip but we managed to get it down. Stephen (my husband) has a horrible sore throat he also had a high temperature yesterday, so I was left to do the majority of the prep and cooking for the rest of us.
Anyway I did it despite being still in shock with only being diagnosed with Myelofibrosis in November.
I was so tired yesterday but that didn't matter as nobody was eating much and I could rest and booked a short break in March while I was doing just that.
Happy New Year.

Hi Janet, , a strange one indeed , guess things always seem worse illness wise at Christmas with Docs and chemists not easily accessible. And you wonder if the person or people arec'badly enough to merit trip to A& E. Tis tough decision. And then you need to consider safe guarding yourself as your immune system may be compromised. So all in all things are in limbo for while until either bod gets better or worse making decision for you.
I had slight relapse Christmas Eve with cough, cold symptoms and was in similar boat , , do I phone Manchester hosp who would want see me or wait for GP to open or wait. Decided give it couple days and kept warm , drank tea, ate well and fortunately picked up.
Hope you coping ok with your diagnosis Janet, don't forget where we are if you need support.
Hi Chris I hope you're feeling better today. Stephen is seeing a doc today and he has very kindly past some nasty germs on to me. Let's hope it's a mild cold and not as bad as his.
Aww shucks hope doesn't hit you too hard. Can be devils to shift. I'm doing ok thanks, just waiting for my poor over worked wife to sort brekky. . Can't wait till I'm able to help myself more as it will make her life alot easier. .

Hello Janet, I had a very lovely Christmas thank you, sounds like you had a rather eventful one, I hope your husband and sister in law are now feeling much better, and that you are taking it easy and not doing too much. Enjoy the rest of the holiday. Best wishes, Maz
Hi Janet, sorry to hear everyone has been ill over Xmas and hope they have all recovered and you don't get a dose too. Good idea to book a break, enjoy it and as Maz says, try and get a rest yourself. Kindest regards anime xx😺😺😺
Hi Aime thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately my family are very sharing and I have got a dose of the lurgy too along with shaky legs. Feeling like an old dish rag so intend to cancel New Years visitors and cooking another dinner albeit only a casserole this time and curl up with my husband and 4 cats for the rest of the week.
I shall hopefully surface on Monday without the sore red nose, headache etc.
