Would like to find out what kind of supplements do people take. I now take Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Fish oil, and magnesium oh and baby aspirin. Was wondering about the vitamin E, anyone take that vitamin? Yes I am on HU and my Dr's know what I take, never said not to. Thanks everyone as always such great advice on here!

ET and Supplements
I take some vit c too, i have PV. I did read that Vit C can increase platelet count, not sure how much and in what dosage but worth keeping an eye on. It can also aid iron absorbtion too.
i also take milk thistle and dandelion root for my liver.
Thanks Paul, oh whow I do not want to raise my platelets, I have ET. I take the C because of my previous cancer and it also staves off colds for me. Hmmm will have re-think that one.
Hi, if its doing you good dont stop, just keep an eye on it. If you keep track of what and when you have taken it, then track this along side your checkups you will be able to tell. Platelets only have a lifespan of about 8 days i think so if you find its causing a problem you can soon stop. That said i would suspect it depends on dose. If your taking a over the counter 1 a day supplement i cant imgaine it will make a massive difference.
Paul
I drink an ounce of pomegranate juice daily. They say this will lower platelets. Will know next week.
Hi, I'm on Hydroxy and Aspirin, also take fish oil, D3 and Milk Thistle, my Doc is happy with this. Best wishes, Frances
I have a varied diet, home cooking from basic ingredients.
I eat plenty of vegetables and fresh fruit.
I take Holland and Barret Senior multivitamins, cod liver oil capsules and calcium with vitamin D. I take echinacea at Christmas and New Year and for a few weeks whenever there are a lot of colds about.
I have my annual flu jab.
Hi Mickey
I do take Vitamin D and calcium , actually prescribed by my doctor as I have absorption issues due to my gut problem. Do sometimes take magnesium too.
I have also recently been taking sambucol, it's a blackberry extract preparation that is for boosting immune system, get it from boots or healt food store. Few people on this site recommended it in previous posts. You are in the US I know but think you can get it there. My doctor did not think it would do any harm. Thought it's worth a try anything to stop me getting colds etc!
Might try cannon fire's recommendation of if it helps to lower platelets. Good luck. Lizxx
