I found a paper

Quintás-Cardama A, Kantarjian H, Manshouri T, et al. Pegylated interferon alfa-2a yields high rates of hematologic and molecular response in patients with advanced essential thrombocythemia and polycythemia vera[J]. Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2009, 27(32): 5418-5424.

This show the JAK2 mutation will turn right in most of person with JAK2.

Am I understand right? My mother tongue is not English.

Is this paper credible?

Thank you.

Add,

Thank you Maz.

I know interferon alfa treat ET, but in my country most doctor said we must inject it all our life.

I hope to know will pegylated interferon cure ET completely in a determined time in most person?

Hi I have et but not the jak 2 , I can only go by my own experience of interferon. I took it for about 18 months but had to stop to have radiotheraphy due to breast cancer . My platelets have remained stable tor 13 months since then without the interferon or any other medication, my Hematologist told me he as another patient who took interferon but as been of it for over five years and there platelets have remained stable. I hope this helps you .

Hi Midas, I'm afraid I can't answer that question for you, you will need to discuss that with your doctors. Maz
