Matt Rigby has persuaded his friends to join him on the Just Walk Event on Saturday 10th May. This challenging event starts at Goodwood Racecourse in West Sussex and goes on a route across the South Downs, ‘Team Rigby’ have been doing lots of hill walking! On Sunday 11th May Claire Todd and 9 of her wonderful friends are doing the Glasgow Bupa Great Women’s 10k. Obviously they enjoyed themselves so much last year they decided to do it again! Last year Claire and 3 of her friends raised an amazing £800 for MPD Voice. I should imagine training has been lots of fun! Think of all those fantastic supporters running in MPD Voice T-Shirts. Sunday 11th May is going to be a very ‘energetic’ day for MPN Voice Supporters!
Scott Davey, one of our amazing cycling supporters is taking part in the 60K Tour de Tendring. Scott used to do a lot of running but stopped after the shock of being diagnosed with an MPN, after 6 months he decided that getting fit would help with his MPN, but unfortunately back surgery put an end to running, so after recovering from surgery Scott decided to start cycling. He enjoys being out in the fresh air, keeping fit and cycling helps combat the effects of his MPN. If you would like to support Scott go to his Just Giving Page
Scott is going to be doing lots of cycling to fundraise for MPN Voice and has had a custom cycle jersey made to promote MPN Voice. Scott has very kindly paid the fee for the set-up of the cycle jersey, if you would like your own MPN Voice Cycle Jersey, please contact marilyn@mpnvoice.org.uk I will give you details of the company used and cost for a jersey.
Jillian Carter is doing the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday 18th May to raise money for MPN Voice as her dad has recently been diagnosed with an MPN. John Messenger is doing the St Albans Half Marathon on Sunday 8th June. John is a regular at our patient forums and has decided to get more active to keep as fit as possible to help his MPN. Diana Carter is having a Stall at her Village Fete in June, selling Retro Bling Jewellery and Scarves, as well as having a Coffee and Cake Morning.
