Fundraise for MPN Voice – The Moonriders Cycle Series 2014

When you have an MPN you are encouraged to try as much as possible to keep fit and cycling is a fantastic way to keep fit. MPN Voice has registered with Action Challenge as a named Charity for fundraising on the Moonriders Cycle Series 2014.

Moon’opoly – Saturday 26 July 2014

Take part in this themed cycle ride through the Capital; around streets and stations made famous during your childhood. This overnight cycle starts in Southwark; a quick visit to the Old Kent Road and a trip North over Tower Bridge to Fenchurch Street Station, is only the start of our night time journey. This isn't your usual cycle though - we want you to 'take a chance' and win the final Community Chest!

Riders from all over the country will for the first time ever take to the streets of London and cycle to play the game in real life! Tackling a 50 mile figure of eight loop of the city you will cycle to tick off as many places and streets as possible whilst trying to win points as you ride.

Take on the challenge to fundraise for MPN Voice

•Themed ride - more than 50 miles!

•Suitable for all abilities & bike types

•Entertainment throughout the route

•Fully supported-mechanics, guides, medics

•Departures Saturday night from 11 pm

•Rest stop at the halfway point: back at Go!

•FREE Snacks and hot drinks at halfway

•Finisher’s breakfast, glass of fizz, & medal

The Route

The 50 mile route is split into two stages, following London's most iconic streets. Cycle into the shadows of the city's towering structures, passing The Shard and The Gherkin to name a few! And parade into the grand west end, passing Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and much more! Rest stops are situated halfway through each loop, to help you refuel, and sort any repairs to bike and body!

Halloween - Friday 31 October 2014

With a rich history steeped in centuries of ghastly tales, London is one of the world's spookiest cities, where history still haunts the streets. When the moon casts shadows over Halloween, will you hold your nerve to cycle the creepy city. On a ride where all is not what it seems, Dracula himself will be on hand to say a few words before sending you on your way, through a maze of haunted underground tunnels before you finally emerge on the streets of London. The Friday Fright Night has begun!

The route follows a figure of 8 blood trail across the city - from East to West - returning to 'The Crypt' at the halfway point to dine on some very hot food at Hell's Kitchen. Rest stops are situated halfway through each loop, to take on food and drink supplied by a specialist catering team, and sort any repairs to bike and body!

•London's biggest Halloween cycle ride - join hundreds of other spooked-up cyclists!

•Zombie cycle guides to help you on your way

•FREE Moonriders neck buff & spoke lights

•Crypt entertainment before you set off

•2 Halloween themed rest stops en route - FREE snacks / drinks

•FREE Snacks and hot drinks at halfway

•Fully signed route (reflective signage + glow sticks) & route map

•Professional mobile bike mechanics, medics, event doctor

•Fancy dress for you & your bike encouraged - prizes to be won!

•Personal liability insurance

•FREE celebratory breakfast at the finish - back in The Crypt - safe as the sun rises

•Moonrider’s Medal and glass of bubbly

To join either or both of these exciting events there is an initial registration fee of £39 plus a commitment to raise £200 for MPN Voice, per event, (the registration fee secures your place on the challenge and is non refundable). For further details on how to join and fundraise for MPN Voice please contact Marilyn at marilyn@mpnvoice.org.uk.

DOING YOUR OWN THING - CYCLING

If you feel that the Moonriders are not for you then you can still cycle and fundraise for MPN Voice like Scott, who has challenged himself as part of his plan to keep fit, to enter as many organised bike rides as possible. Scott thought it would be good if he could use something he enjoys to help raise money for MPN Voice and has already signed up for the Tour de Tendring 60 mile ride on 11th May.

Scott found the Bike Events Site very helpful. Bike events have been running rides for over 20 years and are the UK’s biggest organiser of fundraising and recreational cycle rides, have a look at their site for a fundraising bike ride near you and cycle for MPN Voice.
