PV Specialist in the County Durham area of the UK

Hello All - I hope that you are all feeling as good as you can be! I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any PV specialists in the County Durham area?

I'm under Dr keenan at Durham. She holds clinics at Shotley Bridge and Durham. I'm not sure if there are any others?

Hi Lizl - Thank you for that. I am in Darlington but currently seeing a consultant at North Tees in Stockton as my GP reckoned they were better in Stockton. How are you finding your consultant?

Hi Chrissie10 i have a consultant in Sunderland and she is very good i have had PV for 12 years so i have seen a few over the years the one i have now is the best so far.

Hi Oakley - Thank you for that Info, Well worth knowing there are some good ones around the area. I am still waiting for an actual diagnosis, so hopefully when i next see consultant in November, I will get one!

It's difficult ot say as I've never had another one. She's good, I think, as long as it's directly related to PV (diagnosed last Christmas) but I was getting more and more dizzy spells and I had a firm retort that it wasn't any thing to do with PV and to see my GP.

As it happens, this week I ended up in A&E as my heart rate dropped to 39 and I thought I was going to pass out - looks like I have Bradycardia!

I support Bright Red, which is a charity connected to the Freeman in Newcastle for blood cancers. now if I had the choice I'm sure that would be the right place to be from reading on their page on Facebook, people's comments. if that helps??
