Has anyone else found their head hair has thinned after being on HU? And, any suggestions?
Hi yes I did but not enough to course to much worry , treat yourself to salon products it might not make hair grow but you will feel better for it! Maybe a new shorter cut too.best wishes .

Hello. Yes, my previously wavy and fairly thick hair is now straighter and thinner. I struggled for a while with various hairdressers who didn't really understand the condition/treatment. Finally, I came across My New Hair which is a charity set up by Trevor Sorbie to help women having chemo. He trains hairdressers across the country who beome part of his network and they are experts in wigs and dealing with 'chemo' hair. I found a hairdresser near me and she started me on Nioxin hair products specifically for thinning hair and cuts my hair really well. I now feel much better - my hair is in better condition and I have a good cut which suits me and my hair. If you are interested just go to mynewhair.org and search for a hairdresser in your area.

I have always had very thick hair so if it has thinned at all I may not have noticed. I have been on HU for about 19 years now with steadily increasing dose over the past few years. I have noticed that my hair has got significantly curlier but can be very dry at times. I have tried to stop washing it every day and use a good moisturising shampoo. I also have very dry skin.
Yes my hair was falling out a lot and no matter what hair product I use it was just falling out. A friend suggested to me and I used Pilfood product and it worked. It is herbal Switzerland product. You can get it on Amazon. My hair stopped falling out and grew thicker. Wishing you the best.

I must be one of the lucky ones, the only hairs I have lost are the nasty wires that grow on your chin when you get older, head hair still pretty thick. Good luck in your quest. E x
