Candesartan and back pain

Hello everyone. I've been put on Candesartan for chronic migraine and it is working very well. However I think I am having symptoms as follows but not sure if they are side effects or not. I have arthritis in my back but it seems considerably worse since starting Candesartan. I also am having night sweats again. Does anyone else have these side effects or do you think it's just a coincidence?

I tried taking paracetamol for back pain tonight which is supposed to be ok with Candesartan but I have felt really nauseous and woozy. Does it affect anyone else like this!

can't help I'm afraid, other than to suggest that you have a word with the dispensing chemist - they are often more aware of side-effects and interactions than GPs ...

Hi, what dose are you taking? I’m fairly new to Candesartan (about 1 month) and only taking 2mg. No obvious side effects so far though.

I’m on the same dose as you and been on it for 6 weeks or so now. They work a treat for my migraine- I haven’t had one since starting them. However, I feel a bit groggy and tired but not sure if that’s a side effect or just me! I don’t think it’s listed on the info sheet. I was also wondering about back pain which is listed. I have arthritis in my back which is worse at the mo and wondered if that’s the CANDESARTAN. I have to say that I am delighted not to have migraine though.

I have autoimmune and osteoarthritis and neither is worse. Maybe yours is coincidental? Glad it’s working for you - me too I think. Did your prescriber intend you to increase the dose?

Oh dear. Poor you. It must be awful for you.

No I do t need to increase the dose as they are having the desired effect on the 2mg dose. Also they lower your blood pressure and mine has dropped and shouldn’t go any lower otherwise I’ll be light headed and woozy 🥴 😁. I do hope you will be ok.

Thank you for your kind words. Let’s hope we both continue to respond to the Candesartan. Best wishes
