Hope this helps someone!

I have posted before, but I'm doing this post to boost the information.

I have managed to keep my migraines at bay for a couple of years after I discovered that my poor neck posture appears to be the cause. I have completely flat feet and if I don't wear 'proper' orthotics I find I jut my neck out!. ..also ipad use etc. As there is fluid that flows from the brain down the spinal cord, my neck position seems to pinch this and eventually lead to a migraine!. I now can feel when things are building up for a migraine, and it is always when I've been using a laptop or ipad in bed etc (ie. Poor neck position). Hope this helps someone!

I would be very interested to hear more about how you manage this, having made the connection. I'm convinced my partner's migraines are mainly driven by what's going on with his neck. Also, I think his neck is quite thick and muscles/tendons appear tight as he doesn't seem to have a good range of movement. Migraine is such a mystery and behaves differently from one person to another, but this seems to be the best clue. Thanks in advance!

I had infrequent migraines since the age of 13, but I could never work out a cause. I probably have poor posture, but also 100% flat feet which causes my knees to turn in a bit and hence jut my head out. I have been told that with podiatrist supplied insoles my posture is dramatically improved, and this coupled with trying to keep my head 'floating', trying to stand correctly and using a good height computer monitor rather than Ipad/phone seems to stop me pinching the fluid stuff in my neck. I can feel when I'm getting close to having a migraine and this is usually when I have been using an ipad & barefoot a lot!.

I've had it explained to me by a neurologist, & physiologist, that the brain actually produces a lot of waste products which have to go back down the neck in the cerebrospinal fluid to be delt with. If the genetic design of your neck/posture pinches off some of this flow, then there is a build of toxic waste products in the brain possibly causing a migraine.

Look at this YouTube clip of an enhanced MRI of the fluid flow around the brain!
