Migraine Trigger...Hope it helps!

I have managed to keep my migraines at bay for a couple of years after I discovered that my poor neck posture appears to be the cause. I have completely flat feet and if I don't wear 'proper' orthotics I find I jut my neck out!. ..also using ipad/phone use etc. There is fluid that flows from the brain down the spinal cord which gets rid of waste products from the brain - my neck position seems to pinch this and eventually lead to a migraine!. I now can feel when things are building up for a migraine, and it is always when I've been using a laptop or ipad in bed etc (ie. Poor neck position). Hope this helps someone!

Here is an enhanced MRI showing brain fluid flow!

Really just sharing to try and help others, as it took me 40yrs to find a cause!

Thankyou for that,I do find my migraines can start with tension in my neck. One thing I've found for me is if I've been lifting or carrying our dog.It pulls on the back of my neck.It is awkward because she used to be able to climb the stairs herself, but she slipped and scared herself so has to be carried up.She is not a big dog ,but really needs to lose a little weight, but it's hard.Best wishes.

I very rarely get migraines, well until recently. It coincided with stress/ tension in my neck/shoulders.

One of the best treatments for it was acupuncture, better than any pain relief available.

Oh and I can identify with poor neck position especially from phone use.

I only get migraines that come on overnight so I wake with them. I have identified that they are hypnic migraines but sure that it’s related to my neck position whilst sleeping but I’ve tried various pillows, positions etc but yet to find a solution.
