Hello! I’m about to trial candersartan. Has anyone had success with this for vestibular migraine? I have tried amitriptyline, nortriptyline, topirimate and propranolol without success so I’m hoping this might work!

Candersartan vestibular migraine
I'm in the same boat as you! Tried all of those and about to start Candesartan on Wednesday. Hopefully you'll start to get some relief soon!
Hello Olespain. I don't have vestibular migraines but Candesartan is the only medication that didn't have the bad side effects linked to the other drugs you've mentioned. The good thing as well is that you don't waste months trying to reach the maximum dosage in the hope it will work and then end up giving up because the side effects are too bad. My doctor had said that it is best to take it evenings for migraines and not during the day. It definitely seemed to space out my migraines. However, there are 2 side effects that were a bit annoying to start with but seemed to get better after a few weeks, just need to be careful: light-head (be careful when you stand up) and flu like symptoms. By the way, I take it a few hours before bed after eating, so it doesn't destroy my stomach too much.
Good luck!
You sound like me, funily enough in the same order and no joy with Candesartan, so next up was Cymbalta which was the worst of the lot for side effects although I didn't have bad side effects with the previous meds except tiredness and fuzzy head, but good luck hope it works for you.
Propanolol and Buspirone works for me while I go through migraine headaches and abdominal migraines. Keep trying new medicine. Don’t ever give up. Hang in there. You can do this!
I'm weaning off topirimate to potentially go onto these so I will be watching to see how you get on.
