I have had a chronic migraine for almost 3 years now. It started with sinusitis which caused a migraine and the aura never left. I have got “used” to having the aura 24/7 but it triggers more migraines than I used to. In an ideal world I want to get rid of the chronic migraine, but also want to prevent my full migraine attacks. I have seen doctors, neurologists and had an MRI - of which I don’t really feel that anyone really believes me. I’ve had a really bad migraine attack this week and I am still seriously suffering from it so I am going back to the doctors today to try some new meds. I know the next step (from neurologist) is to try epilepsy medication, and I have also read up on Botox for migraines. Has anyone had similar to me and tried either of these and had much luck? At this point I feel like nothing will help

I'm not meaning to be facile, but do you eat dairy, as in cheese, milk, yoghurt and so on? If you do, try giving it up for 3-6 months if you're able to, see if it makes a difference. My aura migraine has disappeared since I gave up dairy completely for an entirely different, unconnected health problem (also meat, fish and eggs, which I might eat about once a month, but I think its the removal of dairy that's done it). No one was more astonished than I when I realised, after about 4 months, I hadn't had a single attack... and now its over 10 months since I had one (still not eating dairy and won't ever be again now!)
