Experiencing headaches for 4 years and almost everyday!

Please help! I have been experiencing headaches for 4 years and I'm 21 now. I'm always worried about my condition that I always think that I will die soon or I will collapse anytime. Actually the pain is not really severe but I'm just worried and afraid that I think it's painful. I always feel tightness and sometimes throbbing or stabbing in my head, especially if I'm at work, in a public place or like I feel I'm not safe. I also feel sudden fear and after a while the tightness of the head appears. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Good day Cally, I had read your comment and I really appreciated it. Thank you so much. I haven't tried to go to the doctor cause I'm afraid to know the result but now I'm practicing to calm myself whenever I feel something painful or unusual in my head and it's quite effective. I think you're right that i have anxiety and it's so sad to know. Thank you for your time Cally.

Hello ! It is not that uncommon to have such feelings ! Please do not be afraid to see your GP, they can offer clinical help that is not easy to find elsewhere. If you want to address just the phobia and absolutely do not want to see your doctor then you can try here first: fearfighter.cbtprogram.com/

It costs money and I do not know how good it is, but it is recommended by NICE.

Regarding headache - are you getting enough sleep? Can you try to do some jogging / exercise at least 4 times a week? If you can't go to a gym, it is easy to just go outside perhaps in a park and run a bit. This will do a lot of good, but it may not completely stop the headache. Hence you may need treatments and the doctors usually start with Amitriptyline tablet. This may indirectly help you coping your phobia too. But there is no single known medicine to manage headache, so you need to go and see your GP multiple times until they can find out a suitable treatment plan for you - it may need to be trial and error. There is nothing wrong going to see your GP - we all do and do not worry about finding anything bad, the clinicians will (should) take care of you. It is your right to be treated and cared when required.

Best wishes,

Troy
