Hello everyone, some of you already know that I have chronic migraines and that I have an anxiety disorder. This post is about something I've noticed that I have never experienced before. I am now starting to have shooting sharp pain on the top of my head on the right side, and sometimes it will switch to the left. But it keeps repeating and getting worse. I just took an ibuprophen 800mg, shut all my lights off and closed the curtains in my room laying down. My tv volume is on low, and I'm on my iPad with the lighting on low as well. It seemed to help alittle but that brought tears to my eyes. I did some research and the first thing was ice pricked headaches. I have talked to my doctor and she said don't worry about it...I'm going to worry about it. I just want some feedback.

Repeating Sharp Pain in Head.
I would suggest switching off the telly and ipad and just trying to get some rest!
I actually did yesterday about fifteen minutes after posting this. It helped a little but not by a lot because my brother came home and he don't know the meaning of the words, "Keep your voice down." I know he can't help it but it didn't make it any better. I plan on going back to bed after my schooling. Thanks~
Hola! Ice pick headaches are actually incredibly common in migraine sufferers. I've been experiencing chronic migraines for years but within the past 2 years I've had an increase in ice picks as well. Ice pick headaches tend to be very intense and agonising but don't tend to last a very long period of time and because of this they're difficult to treat but if they're affecting your daily life the docs can prescribe a preventative as they would Propranolol for Migraines.
They suck but I don't think they're anything to worry about. Just part of the package really :/
Hope this helps a little
