I have had an unusual aura for 4 days now. Anyone else have this?

Constant migrane for days. I usually have auras that go away in an hour or so. This is a crescent shaped one that is blurry. Went to the ophthalmologist and they found nothing. Anyone else have this?

Hi, my auras usually last for half an hour (flashing zigzags) then the headache starts. The other day I had three auras in about three hours which was unusual and the headache that followed was horrendous....I,ve never had one last for days though, has the headache phase started yet ? I think it's a quite unusual for the aura to last this long so would go and speak to your Dr. its best to speak to them if something changes in your migraine pattern just for piece of mind.

I agree, any changes should be reported to your doctor, or come to see us at National Migraine Centre. I expect it is nothing to worry about, but best be sure.

I went to my PCP. She feels they are hormonal. Gave me new meds to try. My blood pressure is also higher than it has been. Also started me on meds for that. This headache started after a round of steroids for a sinus infection. I am also extremely stressed. It was like the perfect storm. Migraine is almost gone. No meds today. The common shape is still there. Don't see it unless I am reading. Follow up with ophthalmologist in a week.

Good that you are going back to opthalmologist. I see flashes of light and tiny coloured spots a lot of the time and nothing happens. I got checked out by opthalmology who just said it was "just the migraines". No explanation as to why it's so frequent but at least it's nothing serious.

Also got some visual disturbances many years ago after taking some anti-malaria tablets (I now think it might have been migraine-related). Again, got eyes checked and all was well. I still see the same weird shapes sometimes but only in a certain light.
