covid and migraine

I've finally succumbed to covid having managed to avoid it thus far. I have chronic daily headaches/ migraine. I'm now wiped out with Covid but the worst part seems to be my migraine pain having gone up another level. Every time I cough the pain behind my eyes from the migraine is awful. Has anyone else experienced this and did the migraine pain go down a level once covid symptoms went away? Thanks

I don't have daily migraines but when I had covid I had more than usual and the coughing was horrid, like you describe. Once I tested negative they started subsiding. Sadly I think you just have to hang on in there.

I also suffer with chronic migraine, have migraine symptoms daily and had covid just 3 weeks ago. For the first 4 days I was fine (head pain wise) just had a fever and body aches but then the headache hit. Just like you, it was right behind my eyes, I struggled just to look up or down because the pain was so bad. It lasted about 5 days and I had to take paracetamol everyday just to get the edge off of it. I still have the coughing even 3 weeks on but luckily the other symptoms passed. I really hope it passes for you soon! It’s so nasty!

I got covid last September and my chronic daily migraines got so much worse. My neurologist said all his patients that got covid are so much worse now. I live in Ireland and he gave the GEPANT (RIMEGEPANT ) 8 pills which cost me 250 Euro. Could anyone tell if they have tried the VYEPTI INFUSION in UK and did it help them. We were told we would have it from January 1st 2023 , but HSE here have still not approved it. I have spoken to Lundbeck here in Ireland and they cannot understand as the drug is there waiting to give it to patients. By the way I had to stop Rimegepant due to severe side effects. VYEPTI is my last hope. Due to Brexit I cannot come over to UK or go to Northern Ireland, to get infusion.I am at breaking point as I am in so much pain. If anyone in UK could let me know if it has helped them, it would give me hope. Regards ,195fifi
