CBT can and does work. It is currently one of the most effective psychological therapies for depression and anxiety. You can access online CBT free of charge through action on depression or through the living life to the full website. Online CBT is for mild-moderate depression and anxiety. If your depression is more severe, it is advisable that you seek further help. Face to face CBT would be of more help. While CBT has been found to be widely effective, it is not suited to every individual. Hope that helps. Good luck!

CBT takes lots of practice to make it effective. Some people find it easier than others. I really struggled at first but have found it a useful tool in helping to cope, especially with the bad bits

Thanks Raymond, I'm in the process of going to my first session in a few weeks. I really need to find how to cope with things better and the most important thing is for me to get back to work. But with my anxiety and stress I find it hard to hold down a job. Been 4 years now since I've not worked, and need something because I think no employment no enjoyment, and I no it's good for anyone's well being to have a structure and purpose in life. Just hope it works.
