Desperate need of right meds

I was wondering what are some good mood stabilizers that you take with an antipsychotic that helps with stabilizing mood and doesn’t have weight gain as a side effect?

Best sleep aids? I currently am on seroquel for sleep anxiety bipolar and only sleep 4-5 hours.. any combination of meds you take that help you sleep longer?

I want to bring up more med options to my psychiatric nurse practitioner than the ones he offers me that don’t really help or have severe side effects? Any tips appreciated.

I am looking for a new psychiatrist in the meantime but so hard to find. Thank you

I would say one of the best ones for longer sleep would be Olanzapine, I used to have about 25mg of it and that was good enough for a good night sleep.

I actually reduced it down to 10mg

thank you! My bro is on it and he gained so much weight from it but sleeps a lot from it. Also he got tremors from it I think. My doc wants me on it. So it helped with your mood too? Did you gain weight?

If you're on a lower dosage may not have a big effect on your weight, yeah I did gain some weight, however I stopped this medication about 3 years ago as I found it made me quite drowsy, I also stopped my other mental health medications (which I'm not too sure was or is the best idea for myself, but i am doing okay without them) the weight gain was easy to lose after I stopped the medication, excersize helps a lot if you want to keep a good weight.
