Hi Rob-B1,

Thank you for your post.

There is no correct answer for how gabapentin will work for you. Each user has a different body chemistry. Take your friends advice only in so far as to what side effects to keep a look out for.

Doctors always advise people who start to use gabapentin or any new drug to pay attention to shifts in mood or emotions. For example, a person who experiences increased anxiety, anger or panic attacks should contact a doctor right away.

If in doubt consult with your prescriber is the best advice

Sometimes a bit of memory loss is possible, however putting down to the medication may be possible, it could also be down to illness. Sometimes it is possible to blame the messinger not the cause.I have a short term memory disorder and it is not caused by medications. I have been through a tranch of tests several times and in my case it is not caused by my drugs, however remember give the medication time to work and if you feel the same way after two months or so see your Doctor. Write down you problems before you attend this will help with the memory.

Remember as we get older our memory gets worse part of normality in life

I am seventy one, and my memory is bad, very embarrasing.

Hi Rob,I was on Gabapenin many years ago, for neck pain, and Depressionn, I susect. It was before my CLL diagnosis. It was effective for the pain, but I came off it as soon as I could, as I found it too strong for me, and it 'Fuzzed' the mind, if you know what I mean. Hope this helps.
