Question for anyone. I was put on sertraline 50mg and took it for a week. Was extremely sick, couldn’t eat and landed in emergency due to dehydration. So I stopped. I cannot see my dr until September and he doesn’t return my calls ( I know he is busy ) I have been having really bad anxiety and contacted my pharmacy for advice. They suggested taking it with food and an anti nausea medicine but day 5 and I’m right back to being sick. I have a son and a job I can afford to be sick. Any one go through this that might have some advice or can tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel cause it’s looking pretty dark.
Thanks

Hello I don't have any words of wisdom other than to say I know how you feel and its awful whilst your going through it. If your still being sick I would say Sertraline isn't the drug for you and you should try something else.
I'm actually contemplating starting Sertaline but petrified of side effects. I used to take Escitalopram and never had sickness so perhaps you may want to consider those drugs? Or citalopram but ask your Doctor.
There is light at the end of the dark dark tunnel... it just takes time. What I would say though is be kind to yourself... you can't do it all right now and that's OK... your health is so important.
I'm currently having a really shit time so I really do share how you feel... xx
You know why you are taking this medication, generally it is for Anxiety/Depression. Your dehydration, are you drinking your fluids every day.
I drink about 1.5 litres and when it is hot possibly more, if your throat is dry that could cause you to gag and be sick especially if you are not washing down your medication with some water or milk. When I was younger I would try and take my medications without a fluid. I still take a small glass of milk before bed before taking my medications.
It can take about five weeks to come to terms with this medication so like you I had to be patient with the drugs,
Your Doctor most probably feels you need time with the medication .
I have tried both those drugs and sick from both. Prayers to you. And I hope you are right about the light at the end of the tunnel because it feels pretty bleak right now. 😢
