Hi thanks for replying & I’ll give what you said a try but I think I’ve been that cooped up for that long it may be a long process. Do you manage to go out now?
Mirtazapine is another antidepressant so on top of Sertraline perhaps the GP was concerned about long term use. Quetiapine is an anti psychotic and often used as a mood stabiliser. I take 300mg for that exact reason. It is best taken at night as can make you very drowsy.mind.org.uk/information-sup...
Yup. Me too. Old man, psychologist, agoraphobic.Major depression, anxiety and psychosis. A total drag, take 200mg sertraline per day, excellent, could not live without it though need a lot more, found epa, from omega 3 fish oils have helped a lot, really boosted the sertraline.i also practice cbt which helps loads but STILL not enough.
What a pain, klaus
Hey, I've I take quetiapine, I really didn't get on with it at first after 3 weeks I noticed a vast improvement in my mood I also went from mertazapine to this only thing I miss about it, is after taking mertazapine I knew I'd be falling asleep not long after, now I've been provided zopiclone to help me nod off, I have a meeting on Monday about going on to an antidepressant too ie sertraline any advice on this appreciated
You must build up to going outside. A garden, a trip in a car, anything . Winter watch has shown how wonderful seeing , hearing and smelling nature and the outside world can be. Especially if trees, water, birds, animals
Hello and welcome to our online community. It takes a while to get used to quetiapine as it can be sedative to begin with. Definitely one to take at night. You do get used to the medicine over time so try not to be too discouraged.
With getting out of the house it's a great idea to go for short walks - perhaps 5 to 10 minutes- maybe with headphones on to distract yourself at first. Be aware of the natural world around you.
With time and practice you will start to get better.
Be proud of all your achievements however small they may seem.
I'm on Vortioxetine and Quetiapine. Yes it's horrible being stuck in! Difficult going out even when the weather is nice but when it's grey and miserable like now it's so much worse
Try to do some Yoga-style stretches and just small exercises inside (lunges, jogging on the spot) if you can. I do a jog very late at night couple of times a week when there's little foot or road traffic...
Like others have stated, Quetiapine makes you drowsy so do any exercise well before taking it!
Take care
