Try over the counter painkillers and try to workout your neck, there are specific exercises you can do to make it better, you could watch videos on how to do them correctly

Medications over the counter can damage the tummy. If you need pain medications your GP may decide to give you NSID that reduce the swelling around the joints.

Pain medications you may be given can be very strong and can reduce your edge to life

I do take medication over the long term and because of my age, it was very hard making reductions.

You mention it is a pain in the neck, and this is preventing sleep. This may because your pillows need adjusting to support the neck, sometimes people rise their pillows to high or low and put stress on disks C1 to C7, If you are stooping when walking, like looking down instead of straight, that can cause problems. Posture is very important

Are you lifting at work or do heavy lifting, not lifting properly can cause neck and back pain.

You may need a course on lifting. that can cause problems. At work if you are sitting bad and you slouch, that can also cause problems.

Consider how old your bed is over ten years old you may need a new one.
