I’ve just started on sertraline 50mg for the first ever time and it has made me feel really hot, clammy and very tired is this normal? I’m due to take another one this evening

Yes it is. I had pretty much every common side effect going and there are a few weird ones (dreams!). It’ll be strange for the first few weeks, you may feel more anxious and edgy as well, but just when you start to wonder what the point of it all is, you’ll start to feel better and have more good days than bad. It took me about 5 weeks with an increase to 100mg halfway through. Good luck with it.

Sorry to hear this. Please with any meds look at the leaflet it comes with.
The drug your on has many side effects is an anxiety drug.
So symptoms you will get are sweating, nausea, tiredness.
All part of the drug to counter act the symptoms of anxiety.
Always as mentioned read the leaflet it comes with plus be aware of any side effects not present. In the information leaflet provided.

One other with this drug some foods may cause the drug not to work.
Grapefruit juice will effect dosage.
Also always think as a health issue look at diet and nutrition .
If you add in your diet lots of fruit veggies pulses beans whole grains .
Pasta, Rice whole meal bread. Lean meat these will help the effects of the drug and also combined will improve your wellbeing. More responsive your body.
If you add in avoid caffeine in tea, coffee, cola, chocolate, energy drinks. Foods make you consume more if have anxiety.
Can be draining , avoid alcohol, smoking. Fatty foods and unhealthy foods because these can effect well being.
One has to be thinking have this meds but looking at the whole picture of reasons why anxiety.
A solution is to at ways to improve your health, life style courses. Mental health charities if no support.
