I get the same feeling as well, its really uncomfortable.
Are you taking your medication with water or milk
Tablets are very dry and can be caught up around the where Tonsils are, that will make you gag. In the morning I take medications with water and in the evening a small glass of milk.
One of the tablets is quite large and it can get caught in the back of the throat. If you get stuck you will eventually be able to taste the drug especially if you are unable to clear in away

Is it just a brief lump like a few seconds sensation? Or something that lasts for a couple of hours or whatever?
Pills should be taken with a good amount of water. *Especially sertraline*
its a few hours and sertraline, only have anuff water just to swallow them, maybe i should be have hlf a pint then.
You're lucky. Some people don't just get a lump feeling, but have been in a lot of pain from heartburn from it. There is a thread about it over on the Mumsnet mental health forum. People have gone to hospital over this!
Don't take it right before sleeping, or lying down. Drink with plenty of water, or maybe take before a meal.
See the thread over on:

I recently found out that an inhaler that I've used for years is the cause of my throat swelling ,and choking me so much I couldn't eat solids. I also found that my reflux also choked me as the pieces of food built up in my throat , VENTOLIN WAS THE CULPRIT.
