I can't think properly at all it's like I've lost myself. All my general knowledge is going and I'm so scared. Can't live like this!! I don't know what's happening!! I'm terrified. I'm constantly confused and don't know what's going on. It's like my brain is switched off. I've done some brain puzzles, but nothing seems robbed working. My mind is constantly blank. Feels like I want to get hypnotised and it all to go away!!

Feels like I'm losing myself and memory's going with everything
Hello Mk586,
You seem to be struggling a lot at the moment. Please try to be gentle with yourself and perhaps think about some meditation or mindfulness. Are you keeping hydrated, eating a healthy diet and getting some form of exercise? Sometimes its the small steps that help us.
Please tell us a little more about yourself and your situation. Have you family and friends around you? Keep talking to us here and we will support you as best we can.
Take Care

Generally there are reasons to feel the way you do, you need to be able to relax and look for diversions you may enjoy to take your mind of the problem.
You can try Mindfulness, Relaxation Technique and that may clear your clear your concerns and move on. I have a problem with my memory and I find if I cut each concern into small bites, when you are stuck move onto the next problem and repeat the process until all negativity has been cleared.
Memory concerns become more a problem as we get older, in my case I now I have to consider what I am doing and try to make little sayings, many quite silly that helps me remember something I had been doing. If I was going out for the day, I may say going to teddy bear picnic just to remember your appointment. I am having quite a few health appointments. I had an appointment to go see a Dentist for Sedation so I imagined my self in a dentists chair with the dentist with a great big pair of pliers in his hand. If I had to go to get my hair cut I may imagine someone with a lawn mower cutting someones hair, I remember when I do that.
General knowledge or if studying, small bites are best, try learning in small bites where after say reading a page, or so put the book down, at the end then relax or have a cup of tea etc, then reread the page(s) again then move on to the next page, do not pressure yourself take it easy.
Tonight I am on here, later I will read for a time. Although today I have been Indexing a new part of my Library, it will take an age to do because I keep taking breaks, that prevents me from becoming stale and making errors. The section is National Geographic books full of ideas where to visit, the books have prints of different parts of the world and where to get further information. My further references are to do with Victorian, Edwardian etc ferries in Scotland. So I have been sorting that as well, I take time and work stop start what would take someone one hour takes me longer, In my case time means very little as long as I get the job done
However if it is bothering you it is important to see your GP and explaining what is wrong.
It may be caused by Anxiety or Depression.

Hi, I get like this probably once or twice a year it is a scary place to be. I have been diagnosed with depression and it comes back every now and then. The only thing that gets me through is knowing that it will pass in the end like all the other times. Your not losing your mind your just totally stressed out and overthinking things you could also be depressed. I would go and see your doctor and just try to relax doing something you enjoy. I hope this helps and that this phase your going through passes soon.
