PIP assessment this week

β€’5 Replies

Hi guys πŸ˜€

I'm writing this again because people thought that I was appealing a decision. I wasn't, I was talking about having the assessment soon. I used to get DLA this is my first claim for PIP. I claim for how my bipolar and BPD effect me daily. It's quite substantial. My DR also mentioned my back pain and the very strong narcotics he prescribes for me. I've read so many accounts where the assessors report is nothing like the truth! How was your experience?

My PIP F2F was fine. I had a qualified medic, who knew what they were doing, and who knew her own limitations. When you go in , do not lie, do not over exaggerate any symptoms, but also do not under estimate what you do, how long it takes you to do, how much it hurts, how long it takes you to recover, how often you can do the same action again in a reasonable time, without causing you pain or harm.

Lol, I have no intention of lying what I'm worried about is them lying!

Hi

My f2f for PIP was done at my home. I did not ask for it to be done at my house they wrote to tell me it was. The woman who did it was really nice, also a qualified mental health nurse. I was awarded enhanced on both I have cPTSD severe depression and a chronic pain condition. I had a horrible assessment in the past but honestly the latest one was much better. I think you can request a home visit if you would find it easier. Good luck.

They have offered me one at home but I can't cope having any of the assessors in my own safe place. If they were being mean to me I wouldn't want that negativity in my home. Your assessment sounds encouraging. I know that I've got good grounds of mental health it's just I've not mention my pain before. If my DR hadn't mentioned my pain they would probably do it on paper like they normally do. I'm actually glad that call me and now because the pain has to be discussed. I can't hide it anymore. Even with tramadols and up to 60mg of OxyContin a day it's become more and more of a problem. I'm sitting in bed with stuff all around me, the kitchen is a tip and this time it's not because I'm depressed....it's because it's too painful to clear it up. Best wishes.

I'm glad my doctor did mention my pain because my pain was so severe on the day of the assessment I couldn't even sit in the seat. I would've looked pretty stupid if The assessor didn't know why I had the pain!
