New to sertraline coming off amitriptyline

Hi I'm new to this just reading up on sertraline and came across you guys .I'm only on day three ok so far just what seems usual sicky feeling headache and loss off appetite. Panic attacks /anxiety was taking over my life .finally went to my gp who was great and said I must come off the amitriptyline iv e been on for years once these kick in coz there a bad drug to be on for causing anxiety/ palpitations which I have been suffering .I'm just nervous to come off them iv e read withdraw isn't easy .

Hello Shirleywerley and welcome to this community. It's good that you have been to see your GP and have received some good advice.

Has your GP recommended reducing your dose gradually over several weeks - or longer?

As I am sure you will have read it is not wise to stop taking amitriptyline suddenly.

Hello and thank you yes the go said i have to see him in six weeks to give the sertraline time .then slowly he will seem me off the amitriptyline and beta blockers .
