Hello Jamesh77

Thank for sharing this with us. Hopefully you will be feeling a little better soon, it can feel strange when you start new medications. If you are still having these effects , maybe talk with your doctor or pharmacist.

The topics and pinned posts have more information about medications.

Our members may also be able to offer you more help and support .

Let us know how things are going for you.

Take care and best wishes

Check in the box your medications you will find an instruction leaflet, read it and that will explain the medication you are taking

Hi there is no instructions just a box with the tablets in !

Jamesh

There is generally a paper explaining your medication in the box. Sometimes if the medication was only supplied in a half content number of medications the medications may be on their own

Follow the instructions on the front of the box

Give your medications time to work. Upwards, five weeks

When do you see your GP again.

Am due to see my gp end of month feel really spaced out at the min not sure can carry on this way

If you are really worried phone your GP and ask for an earlier appointment.

Write down your worries and concerns on a sheet of paper, this will help you explain and not forget what is going on.

You need to remember, allow five weeks for your medication to work, hopefully your negative fears will eventually be reduced and you will move on.

Consider this problem, AD medication types are not never ending, you may jump a medication that would have worked for you. When this happens your GP will run out of ideas and AD medications, give your medications time to work for you

Hey...I remember what that feels like! One of the most frightening side effects of Luvox are brain zaps where it literally feels that your brain gets a short circuit. I'm not saying this to scare you but so that if it happens you dont obsess that there is something really wrong. The first few weeks I was on luvox I was bed ridden and lathargic, rather sinus like feeling with a very blah mood. It helped with fears but also made me very unfazed, too unfazed! I was tired and felt like a marshmellow. There will be many changes so try to go with the flow if course if you feel you are really sick or something call your Psychiatrist right away, even if it means off hours. Yet my sole advice to you is that once you get to a clinical level of 300, which they slowly over time medicate you to, see how its working with the ocd, whether the good outweighs the bad. Whether ERP is more helpful or if the meds are ot if both are good. I eventually got off it but thats becauase it dis not work so well for me. Good luck though.

Yeah see what happens after a month you should notice things subside. How bad is your OCD?I found out I was disabled when I took mine it was such a blow to my ego...

Sorry with the late response. OCD is always there. It’s who we are and our lives are products of our fears and compulsions. Just remember that you are allowed to have OCD. Lots of people think it’s a choice you consciously make to be difficult. Then they treat you like your not sick. You are allowed to have this disorder, don’t feel bad about it. Take some comfort in the fact you have it and that it is hard to live with. You can get better if you still start accepting what it is and what it does. Start saying this is my ocd at work. I have faith in you and hope you start feeling better.
