Stomach and anxiety
Hi Sarahblueeyez, welcome to this community of many like minded members. Firstly let me say I like your name handle. It is not difficult to see why stomach issues like cramps, nausea, sickness in the pit of your stomach can go hand in hand with anxiety and stress because the responses all come from the brain. I expect you would have heard the expression 'flight or fright' reaction. This happens as a reaction of the body to stress, anxiety or if the body is threatened in any way. The sympathetic nervous system increases the output of chemical hormones that in turn effects many parts of the body which including the gut. This is why some people suffer from diarrhoea, feeling sick or actually vomiting. Understanding the process can help you recognise the triggers. Therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour therapy, Counselling (to identify the trigger) or Mindfulness can help. In the 'pinned posts' are some very handy free guides Sarah for you to look at. Also website - Anxiety UK below. Take care, and best wishes.

100%, I'm always in need of the toilet, Diareeah, peeing always there, Only when anxious of course
I’d give my right arm to never have diahhrea ever again from nerves every time I try to go out somewhere. If I have an appointment, I skip eating and drinking, take Imodium, and have to wear paper pants. Additionally, I bring a tote bag with extra supplies to clean myself up in case the worst happens!
