OMG I HATE THIS SO MUCH!! there is just no words for the total despair you feel in the moment you realise you've lost all that work. And I get it, it's not just about the amount of words you lost, it is the sheer willpower it took you to put yourself through the effort of feeling like your bio was worth updating, finding the courage to think through all that history and putting it into context, order and words. Are you sure you don't have an auto save somewhere? I so totally feel for you!
