Hello guys.

I was sexually assaulted Friday & im too early to do any tests for stds or hiv.

Is it worth paying privately for the 10 day incubation hiv test?

I'm absolutely terrified, I was depressed anyway but just feel like killing myself at the moment. I don't know how to get through this.

Thank you x

Hi there,

I am so sorry about your assault .Are you getting any support at the moment ?

As for tests I would think it is worth speaking to a doctor/ gum clinic about this .

I'm not an expert on hiv but catching hiv from a single exposure probably carries less risk than one may think. The Terrance Higgins trust is an hiv charity who may be able to give you more info . HIV tests are generally accurate at 3 months . However there are other tests which can show a positive result much earlier .

I think you need to speak to someone about this as it is obviously an extremely upsetting time. Take care x

Hi. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Tell 1st reply gave you the info I beleive. The NHS one if you're in UK is fine. There's a tablet called PREP I think that you can have to decrease the risk of developing HIV. Don't know much about it. The clinic will know. Don't forget the after pill if you're considering this too. Please do consider specialist forum that will also support you at this time. You're in my thoughts. 💗

Oh my dear ,never do that ( kill yourself) .Say to yourself " I can and I will" and come through this dreadful scare. What someone else did to you is despicable and they must bear the consequences not you. It happened and that is that. You have every right to be terrified . Don't beat yourself up for that. You know, every morning we wake up with the decision to either be happy or miserable? Helpful maybe if you could remember to write down things you would like to do,chose to do, for the next day, the night before? Don't forget where you put the list though ! You can change your mind once you wake up again anyway. Come on now ,do some good breathing exercises and smile and think of the others you can help re same problem ,in the future. In getting interested in others same situation we can give them try give good cheer and help them to laugh once again. You can do it ! Hang on there !

Please don't kill yourself or even suggest such a thing to yourself. So many strong women have overcome this kind of situation and you will too, that is a fact. Please keep hope and i pray that you will see the silver lining in your life sooner rather than later because you have been put in an extremely unfair situation because of one disgusting person who doesn't deserve your thought of day. I don't normally post and I don't know much about the tests because I'm an ignorant teenager but I DO know that you deserve to be happy and the person who abused you deserves to be punished. I hope you will find some comfort in my words and I hope you find happiness.

lots of love and prayers, Felipe
