I've had the side effect 'dry mouth' for a while now from venfalaxine and by drinking plenty of water it's not been much of an issue. However, with the recent introduction of citolipram no matter how much I drink I cannot get rid of it. It's like sand paper all the time. Any tips for coping with dry mouth please?

Hello S. Your Doctor can prescribe something for this which will help and will be better for your teeth and gums.Saliva also helps with chewing and swallowing and so aids digestion. Candy sounds better, I know. Pam
Hello there. well you can't do it continuously but a harmless pastille something like a Rowntrees fruit gum will help and they can be made to last a longish time. Useful when you need saliva before eating or making a mini speech. OOps I see great minds think alike.
I was given a spray to use, but it didn't help, I find water and tea make it worse, I have resorted to having some sweets with me that I can sook on to stimulate the saliva glands.
