I'm sorry you are feeling like this. I went through a bout of depression from early December through half of January. Mine had a lot to do with an auto-immune disease I have. I was having a flare-up of rising liver enzyme levels in part due to stress and me trying to lower my Prednisone and immune suppressant meds on my own. Of course, I've suffered from depression at other times during my life but I have never had to suffer with clinically diagnosed depression. The only thing that really helps me when I do get really depressed is forcing myself to go outside and do something I like. Usually gardening, which I love, or taking hikes, canoeing, or just sitting or lying outside in the sun if I'm totally fatigued. It even helped this time that my sister (who doesn't have a car right now) needed a ride to and from the Farmer's Market on Saturdays. If not for doing that I wouldn't have ever left the house. All I wanted to do was curl up under the covers and vegetate. So the only advice I can give you is to try and force yourself to do something! If it is a question of finding the right kind of medication then force yourself to make an appointment and seek help. Read positive self-help books, eat healthy foods, and get outdoors. The other thing I started getting into doing each day is going outside and jumping on the trampoline. I'm trying not to dwell on past hurts or worry about the future but to appreciate the beauty of the now! Good luck...
I know what you're feeling 100%! For the last few months I have been so low. I don't even know why I feel like it so it's so hard. The way I've started to deal with it is by thinking I'm never going to snap out of it if I keep trying to work out why I'm down. That's just getting me into a lower place. I started to think of all the good things, speaking to friends, the successes that I'm having at work, which before I completely missed. You just need to be easier on yourself. Don't let yourself stay in that cycle. Step out and think what will make me feel better. I enjoy going out for a walk (and trust me I am not a walker) but it clears your head so much and you feel so refreshed. Especially as we start getting towards summer! Everything's getting brighter. I'm not in a perfect place but I'm in a lot better place than I have been for a hell of a long time. Have you been to see your gp? Massive weight off your shoulders just to take that first step. I really recommend it. Even though it's a hard one.
Thank you very much for your reply no not yet but soon I'll have this might sound really silly n daft of me to say but I'm scared of going because I been threw a lot n IV not properly delt with things thank u again for your reply
I completely know what you mean. Since I went to my doctor I realised that there was a lot in my life that I've never dealt with. It's way too easy just to forget about it and find a smile. I think we're all too accustomed to that. Top tip that I got recommended on here is to write down what you want to say and go with it to your doctor. You can then read it to them and if it's too hard you can give it to them. They will understand. I had to book an emergency appointment as my first one as I was in such a bad place and thinking about it I probably would have cancelled it if I had time to think about the appointment. I would try and get an appointment as soon as possible.
Thank u again that's really good advice to go with I appreciate it if you don't mind me asking how did you approach your doctor about it because I don't even know where to start
That's okay. I'm just passing it on from someone else 😊 I called and asked for an appointment that day. The reception will ask why you want the appointment. Be prepared for that as they will be able to help you more. But just say why you need to see the doctor. That way the doctor will know before you go in and they'll ask leading questions. Hope that helps.
Don't get so bad that nothing helps!
