is it normal to wake up each night and have a fair bit of blood on your body after circumcision, it has been 4 days and every night this has happened. Is this due to erections while sleeping and is this normal?

circumcision

hi there, it’s still early days, for you. I was circumcised 10 weeks ago, and for the first days there was a bit of blood on the gauze I was using once the dressing came off (on first day) from the stitches - I was given antibiotic gel to use on the wound for the first week, and swapped out the gauze 2-3 times a day. It gradually got less, but it lasted about 2-3 weeks around the frenulum. It wasn’t a lot so I didn’t worry - depends on what you consider a lot.
If concerned please contact your doctor asap, don’t wait - be sure.
Hope it works out, but don’t delay seeking medical help if worried.
I had blood for up to 10 days after my operation. I would wake up and the blood would be on me and the bed sheets.
Mine was caused by the night time erections and the stitches pulling.
For me, the first 10 days were the worst in terms of discomfort and mentally as my sleep was broken. But it does get a lot better
Yes, I was bleeding for a fair couple of weeks after the operation - usually at night because of the stitches and night erections. It's normal, should stop happening as the stitches lose their tensile strength.
