How to clean when I can't see the stitches?

Hey,I'm 3 days post-op circumcision and I've been applying ointments to the stitches for 2 days like I was told. I can't see the stitches due to light swelling anymore, I read to not pull the skin back and to just let it heal on its own. But how do I clean the wound? I was told by my doctor that I was not allowed to bathe at all for 2 weeks.

Or should I just apply the ointment on the crease between the skin and the head?

Also, I'm not entirely sure how it should heal. Should the skin attach to the head or to the shaft? Is it supposed to attach at all?

Thanks for your advice :)

best way is to dip your penis in a salt water solution and swill it around for a few minutes. Salt prevents infection and promotes healing. Don't rub just dip. Good luck!

Bathe normally without putting soap on your penis, dip your penis in salt water and use a hair dryer on low heat to dry it off. The swelling will subside in a week or so

I was told to keep dry for 48 hours post op, but then you could let some water go on that area but not to soak for very long. I only take showers, so i gently directed water to that area, direct from shower would just sting, but let it run off your hand or similar.I never really saw the wound due to swelling. It was over 3 weeks before i started to see any gap between the head (glans) and the fold of skin where the stitches were. I'm now at 5 weeks and can see everything just about, though I'm still very gentle in cleaning that area. The stitches attach to the skin under the head, and it is just one continuous piece of skin continuing to the head (the skin becomes the head, if you see what I mean, though it can seem folded just below unless you pull it back which isn't advisable until fully healed) with some bumps or a ridge where stiches are/were. The bumps should go over time.

Salt water is best. Move on to baby soap or emollient.
