Hi, It's now 8 days since my circumcision, the sensitivity is reducing, swelling has reduced a little and I feel more comfortable in general except in one area. Sleeping
My sleep has been absolutely terrible and I am constantly waking up every 2 hours due to an erection which hurts while I frantically try to bring it down. It also causes more irritation and a burning feeling as I'm sure the frenulum wound area is getting stretched open for the wound to start again. It was not too bad for the last two days but tonight was absolutely terrible. How did you all deal with it and how long was it bad enough to wake you guys up while sleeping? Any tips and advice is appreciated.

Yes the night erections were the worst thing ever. Like you I was constantly waking up and worrying that something would split open. You can't really avoid them as they are part of the healing process. If you lie on your side and pull your knees up in the foetal position it seems to lessen the impact, then just try and ride it out. It was 4 years ago for me so I can't remember exactly how long they were unbearable but maybe a couple of weeks. If you can't settle maybe try getting up and walking around till it goes down. Some guys suggest a bag of frozen veg but that didn't work for me. Good luck
I had trouble sleeping for the first 7-10 days due to erections. When it happened, I would grab an ice pack and hold it through a towel to bring the erection down quickly, it was pretty effective. Try to pee before you sleep. I also found that trying to avoid drinking in the evening a few hours before sleep made a difference, as a full bladder can trigger nocturnal erections. Personally I slept naked and after about 10 days, I managed to sleep a lot better.
The night erections are terrible so I hope you are doing ok, I stopped drinking any water after 5pm every night as I figured out a full bladder would cause more night erections.
do things that keep your mind off anything sexual, try gaming or watching something that doesn’t have to many explicit scenes to help keep your mind off that kind of stuff I found helped a lot for me. I just gamed heavy, I’m on week 4 now but it was only really an issue for the first 2 weeks. Also keeping a freeze pack near my bed helped as well even if it wasn’t to cold near morning time anything cold near the sac area when it’s happening helped mine go away within 10 seconds. But it’s diffrent for everyone so just find what works best for you
As the guys have said anything cold will ease an erection. Even an empty glass or cup kept handy nearby will be sufficiently colder than you to ease it.In hospital nurses will use ice if they need to do this to a patient.
You are 18, and probably still in puberty for several more years. Your penis controls your life in every way it can. You can blame your erections on your partner, but you can't do anything that you want to do. Having a partner sleep with you won't be a good idea either, since you shouldn't have sex so soon after surgery. Sorry - but you have now moved from the "uncut" group to the "cut" group. And your sex acts will be different from what they were in several ways. Enjoy.
All the right advice here. Night erections were a bloody nightmare for the first couple of weeks... then the stitches clearly lost their tensile strength and everything felt more relaxed down there. You got this, bro. This all sounds normal and very familiar.
Appreciate the response man, glad to see it worked out for you, currently in the 4th week of healing and thankfully the pain during erections reduced after 2 weeks so now I don't feel discomfort
