I went to the doctor's because my penis was sore and when she examined my penis I was told I had thrush how do men get thrush

Thrush is caused by a fungus called candida, normally harmless.

Thrush grows in warm, moist conditions and develops if the balance of bacteria changes. Normally if your skin is irritated or damaged.

Sorry your going through this, OneJoker is correct also Thrush isn't caused just through sex, when I had chemotherapy I was on a lot of different drugs and these caused me to have thrush, it maybe worth relieving it with natural yogurt and especially if it is in your mouth/tongue etc ask your pharmacy for Daktarin, that is very good.. hope this helps and you get rid of it quickly

Could you please tell how long it took you to get rid of it. I have it since 2021 and it’s decreasing slowly slowly each month very lightly. My whole tongue used to be white but now only half white. Is daktarin over the counter or needs prescription?

try natural yogurts and you could try salt water, clove oil, apple cider vinegar and the Daktarin you do not need a prescription you can buy it over the counter, think mine cost me £3 last month for a 15 gram tube, you only need a squidge of it but it does work

Can not try salt water because I only have a shower and not a bath

all you need is cotton wool and a small container of water with a small amount of salt dab it and then rinse and make sure its dry, hope this works for you

I have been told I could get a jug of warm. Water with salt in it and put my penis in the jug for 5 minutes

fragranced soaps and shower gels which may irritate the penis, ensure you dry your penis thoroughly after showering or washing, could ask your GP for some canesten cream, you can buy it over the counter as well, I have used it before and it does cure the itchiness of it, hope this helps mate
