I got circumcised 3 weeks ago it looks a lot better than it did, still a bit of swelling and can’t pull the skin fully down yet, but there’s some sticky like white gunge that coming from under the skin where the swelling is is this just normal I’m starting to get worries again

it could be smegma as the skin was still overlapped and cant be cleaned properly, or could be your body still trying to heal as some new tissue can be white plus it still very swollen by the sounds of it so your body is still doing its best to recover,

I had an infection but i also had puss and yellowish/brown liquid, i would say depending how much its affecting you either give it a little more time to see if it gets worse or go and see your doctor, that is what they are there for at the end of the day. i went and seen mine and was told it was fine then went back a week later as it got worse then was put on anti biotics for infection.

If you are anything like i was then i would go to the doctors just for the piece of mind that everything is ok, failing that get an appointment with a nurse instead and ask for advise to make sure you are cleaning it properly ect and if they see any concerns they will contact the doctor for you, that is what i did anyway, i am in the uk so i am sure how it works for anyone outside the uk.

I am now a few months on and its looking a lot better even after the infection, just remember these things take time.

Hi thanks for the reply, yeah I’m thinking it’s cause I can’t pull the skin all the way down because of the swelling still, I had a infection the first week and was given antibiotics so I can’t really see it being infected again, it’s just like a sticky discharge, I’m going to give it another week then will probably call the doctor it has still only been 3 weeks and he did say can take upto 9 week to heal

The discharge you're getting is part of the healing process. I had the same concerns as you till I knew. It's only something to worry about if it's yellow or smells which could indicate an infection. If you're keeping the area clean, you'll be fine.

I’ve just had a look on one side of it it looks a bit raw as if the stitches haven’t nitted together on one side, it looks like that’s where all the fluid is coming from

Mine looked a bit of a mess for weeks as well and when everything is still swollen, it's difficult to tell what's going on. Hopefully it will settle down but if it's worrying you, phone your doctor or the nurse for reassurance.

When did yours start to look better, did it still have stuff coming out of it after 3 weeks, my skin that’s left is covering 80 percent of my penis head it’s looks like I’ve not been circumcised sometimes

I'm 9 days since surgery my main concern is what you mentioned that my shaft skin almost completely covers the head I'm hoping when the swelling goes down it will resolve itself and retract behind the head, but at the moment it looks like I'm uncircumcised which is not what I was expecting or was told to expect. Its weird as 10% of the head the tip area is exposed and very sensitive but I'm thinking the head won't desensitised as most it's covered and some isn't and it wont know which way to go haha. I can't find anything about this online apart from too much foreskin being left behind by the surgeon which they call redundant skin but I'm sure it's not that it's not foreskin it's shaft skin rolling down like a oversized jumper, of course the stitches are uncomfortable as they are folded in under the skin.

I have no follow up with the consultant or urology but i did try to phone to ask about it as they are best placed to answer any concerns but was told to get hold of my GP so I will have to wait a while and if it doesn't change I will give them a call.

Yeah mines Excatly the same at actually back at the hospital now and they have booked me in to see the surgeon on Thursday, mine has some sticky stuff coming from the incision but they are saying it doesn’t look like an infection I just don’t think it’s healing right, they doctor is on there way now and seeing the surgeon on Thursday so hopefully will get to the bottom of it

Fingers crossed for Thursday, im sure its all part of the healing process as we all heal in different ways, but i will be interested to hear what they say

Took quite a while for the swelling to go down, 4 weeks maybe and I had stains in my underwear for about six weeks I think. Because of the swelling I couldn't really see the head of my penis either. It all settled down in the end but did give me some stress for weeks

It sounds pretty much the same as mine, I think I’ll just leave it and hopefully it will get better on its own, thanks for sharing your experience
