my penis shaft is darker 3/4 way down my shaft and a lot lighter color 1 inch to the head. What causes that?

That is typical of having been circumcised with a 'high' style. The skin on the shaft of your penis and your scrotum are normally much darker than the skin on the rest of your body.

The inner, mucosal, layer of your foreskin, together with your glans, will be very much lighter and redder than your shaft skin.

During circumcision any inner foreskin, that has not been removed, will lay on the shaft between the glans and the scar/line of the cut. Above that line will be the darker original shaft/outer foreskin; hence the two-tone look.

It's completely normal, many things are like that unless u notice u can't find. Like testis size , their attachment to penis etc

That's a HIGH circ. It is also probably tight? Tight will mean glans is always completely uncovered, and erection is nice and tight. I have an African friend, and noticed at gym he also has a pink colour for maybe 1/4 of shaft,

Some circs are high like yours because there was a lot of foreskin to remove originally.
