I am thinking about a voluntary circumcision. I am 48 male UK, and I have what you'd class as Phimosis all my life (tight foreskin) and would think the GP would agree.
However, I am just looking at any tips or thoughts on this before I take it any further, from the people on this forum.
What is the procedure like, and the healing afterwards? I am very hesitant to step forward for this, but this forum is making it a little easier with your stories.
Sex has never been a problem, nor urinating.
I have heard of horror stories, of people in pain, losing sensitivity, waiting to heal to resume sex and it not feeling the same etc wishing they could reverse it
Can anyone shed any info on the pain, procedure etc. Would you still have gone ahead?
Or could I ask the GP for Steroid creams as a smaller step to loosening up the foreskin which I believe is a common practice and not so invasive!

I just recently had circumcision 2 months ago. I am 40 had tight foreskin getting little tears and bad scarring. Was in agony for 2 weeks. But now I am glad I had it done. Sex is better for us both. I was also a carrier of thrush which we have found out. Sensitivity has dropped around 40%. Can take me longer to cum. But not a bad thing.
Personally would not recommend due to the adverse effects and what you have mentioned before you simply don’t know the outcome please do the research and inform yourself before making a decision
I would suggest just go for it. Foreskin might be fragile for several men, a girl can get her pussy blood with defloration but not a grown men.
Pain wise, I guess the pain while injecting the anesthesia for tooth extraction is way painful than cutting the foreskin. Of course you'll get local anesthesia, the older style will be a bit ticklish but nowadays there is way technological solutions . It is just like a pinched kinda thing, which would be same like if pinching finger for instant sugar level check up using some handy machine. That's the part you have verify if the doc uses the older way or the modern way.
Pain, since we are grown, you'll have to cope with erection, in my own experience I never felt pain at all but fear only, as I did cut not for medical reasons but for sexual pleasure, cosmetic and most importantly orgasm reason. The fear I mentioned is about blood oozes from the wounds, I did it voluntarily, and my parents are unknown about it, so, you may guess, what parents would think if their boy is bleeding lol. That the part, but I got second time revision cut, during that time I informed them that I'm going to get cut( they don't know about my first cut, this second that which I made is all to tighten my circumcision for a very ultra tight, for a 1000 times intense orgasm. So I used this chance and used my childhood excuse, where although there is no difficulty with my foreskin back then, I just obsessed with my foreskin, if it really have problem lol, so the doctor suggests my father that his son is fine but if in case he( me) feel uncomfortable with it, better get him(me) circumcised. My father didn't want get me cut, so he obviously moved out the situation but that thing, I used as an excuse now, so that I can have sex, and yeah I got cut again, tightened, and yeah my parents do aware that their son is circumcised now).
Sexual experience, I'm a proud bator, single, virgin guy, not even had a kiss from a girl yet. So with my bator experience, I would say, the orgasm is way intense, 1000×s deep than when I was uncut. I'm enjoying each seconds with my little bro thinking and imagining and fancying some sexy, perky chicks. You can ask me any questions as I had twice circumcised experience along with a separate surgery to get rid off my frenulum, yeah my genital is 100% accustomed now lol, modified for sex, solely.
Stretching exercises rarely work after the foreskin thickens during puberty.
The 'hundreds of thousands' of nerve endings is a gross exageration. Anyway, 90% or more of the nerves in the foreskin are there solely to protect the foresakin and have nothing at all to do with sex.
Do lots of research and make your own decision. Try not to be swayed by those who will tell you it is great one way or the other. From what you say Surgery may be the best option but for me I preferred life with a Foreskin.
I had a general so surgery was not a problem, but recovery is different for each of us. I was hypersensitive for months, others have said they where fine after a week.
