Tight foreskin/cracking

Hi there.

I'm 23 and I was wondering if anybody can help me with an issue that I've had for a while now, or if you've experienced it yourself and have come a solution.

Every now and again, my foreskin cracks which makes it difficult to retract - and extremely sore especially when urinating as you can imagine. How do I stop this from occurring? Also, when this doesn't happen, I can maybe pull my foreskin back half way when erect which causes an issue with intercourse - I feel as though there's excess 'pressure' on my frenulum.

I had a phone call from my GP regarding this issue and was given hydrocortisone cream which didn't really work.

Hi robinson5,Sorry you are going through this nightmare, personally if it hurts when you pee and that it cracks after a while I think you need to stop the hydrocortisone cream and give your GP a call and ask for a face to face so they can exam it properly when it goes like that, in the meantime I used to use germoline and that helped a lot better until I managed to get to my gp, hope this helps matey, good luck

cracks in foreskin are usually caused by fungal infection.Keep using antifungal cream for a while after you think it's done it's job and do some stretching excercises

Most cases are caused by yeast, and antibiotics help yeast to thrive. Ordinarily, Clotrimazole will cure it, but you might have developed a resistant strain requiring systemic treatment. Simple Athlete’s Foot cream might work, but if not, see your doctor. Crazy as it sounds, applying yogurt inside the foreskin can help to get things in balance. Meanwhile do not use soaps or gels. Use condoms and treat your partner.

I had the same problem but if you’ve been prescribed creams which are not working you may be looking at circumcision. But man I feel your pain. Call you doctors and get them to refer you to a urologist 👍

Righty dude. I had that sometimes also and it really hurts, can also be caused by the soap you are using. If this is happening alot ---Another thing to beware of is if you are peeing a lot, thirsty, hungry or bouts of exhaustion. These are signs your blood sugar is too high, your body gets rid of the excess sugar through urine which causes the foreskin to crack. If you have these symptoms a lot also you should get a blood test and a simple finger prick glucose test. I'm talking about Type1 diabetes.

Hi it’s possible that your foreskin is cracking due to being too tight does it normally happen during intercourse ? You’ve also tried cream and maybe stretching exercises provided by your gp ? That’s not seemed to work you need to see a urologist ask your gp to refer you.
